Clayton Strahan – Chief Park Ranger
Clayton joined the District in 2006. Clayton holds Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a California State Water Quality Control Board Water Treatment Operators Grade T2 certificate, and is currently enrolled in the ACWA-JPIA Leadership Development Program. Clayton is an enthusiastic and energetic member of the District leadership team, and has been instrumental in securing several grants to offset operational costs. Clayton is responsible for the operations, maintenance and administration of the District’s Lake Piru Recreation Area. His responsibilities include: managing the concessions agreement; planning and coordinating the needed maintenance, repairs, rehabilitation and improvements of the recreation facilities; educating visitors regarding the District’s visitor rules and state boating rules and enforcing them, when necessary; coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency medical services; ensuring that the Recreation Area complies with the District’s FERC license and other regulatory requirements; implementing the recreation-related components of the District’s Quagga Mussel Monitoring and Control Plan, and recruiting and training Recreation Area staff.
