Linda Purpus – Senior Environmental Scientist
Linda Purpus joined the District in 2004, and currently serves as Senior Environmental Scientist in the Environmental Planning and Conservation Department. Linda holds a Master’s of Science degree in Environmental Science and Management specializing in Water Resource Management from the Bren School of Environmental Sciences at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB), and a Bachelor’s of Science in Hydrologic Sciences from UCSB. During her career with the District, Linda has served in many capacities. She has conducted research under grant funding, contributed to the District’s efforts on a wide range of water resource management issues, and administrated compliance activities related to federal, state and local environmental authorizations for District activities. Linda currently serves as lead for managing the environmental elements of the license issued to United Water Conservation District by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the Santa Felicia Project. In this capacity, Linda strives to represent the District’s interests in addressing environmental matters in an environmentally responsible manner that maximizes the District’s ability to achieve its water resource management goals.
